Upgraded your driver’s licence and looking for a driving job?  In today’s transport industry there is a lot more to the job than just driving a truck…

For example, do you know the following…

  • How to use the GVML and GCML to determine how much load to put on a truck?
  • How to apply the requirements of the load restraint guide?
  • How much load restraint effort a double hitch rope can apply to a blocked load?
  • How to fill in your work diary?
  • What is the maximum height of a vehicle in SA? What is the maximum width? Length?
  • How much overhang is allowed front and rear?
  • How to secure a load with a dog & chain?
  • The equipment required and procedures followed in the event of a heavy vehicle breakdown or road accident?
